Granolasare notoriously high in carbohydrates, mainly from the sugar they contain but also from the grains. Not this one!
Whether your follow a paleo, primal, grain free, gluten free, whole foods, real foods, low sugar, no sugar, low or moderate carb diet, or some combination of some of these, NoGRAINola, a new and unique cereal-alternative, could be the answer to your dietary desires.
NoGRAINola, the brainchild of Jesse Cushenberry of PrimalPaleo Concepts, provides the crunchy texture of granola and other cold cereals without the grain or the sugar. You get golden nuggets that stand up to milk (whether it’s cow’s milk, goat’s milk, almond milk, or cashew milk). Although I tried the product twice as cereal with unsweetened almond milk, once with banana slices and twice with raisins, I found myself using it as dessert or snack, eaten right out of my hand. I loved the toothsome texture! The more I chewed the nutty, crunchy nuggets, the more the stuff reminded me of the Grape Nuts cereal that I ate a lot of as a child.
I’m sure NoGRAINola would be great over poached fruit, as a topping for a layered fruit parfait with homemade whipped cream or whipped coconut cream, or served with fresh blueberries or strawberries and nut milk. I’m sure you can dream up other uses for it once you try it.
The original flavor is made from a delicious mix of organic coconut, almonds, prunes, carrots, water, and Himalayan sea salt. All of the sweetness in this innovative cereal-like treat come from fruit and vegetables: prunes and carrots. As a result, the product is low in carbs compared to conventional granola and paleo granolas that rely on honey or maple syrup. PrimalPaleo Concepts also makes another version with added stevia.
A 30 gram serving of either flavor of NoGRAINola contains 130 calories, 11 grams fat, 15 mg sodium, 7 grams carbohydrate (3 grams fiber, 3 grams sugars), and 3 grams protein. Each 9 oz package contains 9 servings, each a heaping 1/4 cup.
PrimalPaleoConcepts promises 100% real food with 0% yucky stuff and they deliver. If you’re a granola kind of guy or gal, it just might rock your taste budes. But give it some time. If you’re not immediately wowed, keep chewing. I found the longer I chewed the sweeter and more delicious the little nuggets tasted.
They also make two cookies, a Woo Hoo Chocolate Chip Cookie and Woo Hoo Walnut White Chocolate Chunk Cookie. I haven’t tried the cookies…..yet. But Jesse promises to send me samples of those too. These grain free, gluten free paleo cookies are made from coconut flour, almond flour and sweetened with stevia and coconut palm sugar.
On the non-edible front, they also sell something called Mircale Pain Cream. You can read more about these on their website.
